Last saturday I visited around 10 shops in Ritchie Street and the cost is as below...

perfect price, I had enquired the same in few other shops a month back. Price is okay.

Well if you can DIY there is nothing like it.

Also get some F connectors which would be required, and if you can align the dish yourself u can save on the 700 and get yourself a good satellite finder which is necessary and may come handy later.

STB-mpeg-2 receiver is Rs 700 - 1250 (depending on the warranty)
Bro, they are obsolete these days, u can use them, after some time you may have to go in for a newer ones. Pls go in for a MPEG4 ones cause all channels are migrating to this technology this is my advice.

mpeg-4 reciever is Rs 3300(Beetel,6months warranty) but the shop owner said it is faulty

Yes but these are imported ones dear, we do not know if they would work properly and if they have the proper firmware updates.
go in for beetel(BHARATHI) u can get it serviced here in India in case you have problems and newer firmware versions would be available.
